sustainable living join forces

60 West Burlington Fairfield IA. 52556

MSOS Mission: To share sustainable living (STL) information, resources, programs, projects, skills, and products to inspire livelihoods that will persist during life’s ever-changing circumstances. Through education, developing sustainable social enterprises and encouraging entrepreneurial spirit MSOS desire is to have a strong impact on the future.

STL is simply developing the mind set, spirit, skills, and willingness to make the changes needed to be a more responsible people. Locally and globally we focus on sustainable community building with women and children primarily. They are the building blocks of most resilient communities. Young people are usually left with the problem we create and they are expected to find solutions. STL issues include energy, water, air, nutrients, food, textiles, buildings, forestry, animals, & plant life to name a few. This can be over whelming and depressing for many people, especially the young and economically challenged.

Stainable education presented in a creative and innovative way can encourage those participating to articulate their vision and give them lifelong skills for active citizenship and sustainable lives. Being a part of worldwide STL transition is our mission.

Sustainable Living

Community Creativity Center

A transformation station

This is a place for all women in the community to
come and express, experience, and expand
as STL specialists that we are.

Many Shades of Sisterhood welcomes sisters of all faiths, lifestyles, race, and age
to join us here at this space. We are a place
the everyday sister can transform
her mind, body, spirit and life.

We will have classes, workshops, projects and programs in the following areas:

Sewing, crafting, solar energy, community gardening and canning. We will learn to handle power tools, small home repairs and weatherizing also alternative home building. We will also work toward developing green products using recycled goods and textiles, and marketing thru collective flea marketing and internet sales. MSOS will seek to establish contract sewing, gardening and STL home evals/assistance opportunities.

You can participate class by class or become a member of MSOS Creativity Club. We will have “drop by shop time” and community sewing/crafting projects. There will be women study sessions, moon madness gatherings,
creative meditation sessions, mothers markets,
and much, much more.

We will also have activities for the youth and children. We will have projects that interact with our community elders who hold the true wisdom of what is now called sustainable living.

Let’s not seek the change, Let’s be the change
